In the first of the Worldquake series (Dragon’s Green, The Chosen Ones and Galloglass), we meet Effie and her friends as they each discover their own special combination of magical abilities ready to take on the destructive and evil Diberi. 

Set in a world where technology has been set back by a disaster, kids will love the magical items, the incredible characters and the amazing friendships. Our copies are worn because my kids love them so much, even choosing one of the characters for the high honour of a World Book Day costume. These books are beautifully written, but are also exciting, relatable and captivating. They have that transportive feel that makes me wish I could have read them as a child, because I was immersed in Scarlett Thomas’ gorgeous and magical world even as an adult.
