Oh Maya Gods
My Review
When football fan Vesper accidentally releases Kizin, the Maya god of death, from imprisonment, only a game of Pok-a-Tok can stop him from ending all mortal life. A trip to the underworld to take on the match of her life is the world’s only hope to avoid the apocalypse.
Maz Evans writes with so much energy and humour. The pages are bursting with character and the plot is pacy and flows along with plenty of laughs and peril on the way. If you want a fun and engaging read as a companion to a topic on Ancient Maya, this would be a popular choice in the classroom, or a recommendation for your book corner – lots of mythological references and loads of fun.
