Starminster: The Month of Birthdays
My Review
In the second of the Starminster series, Astrid’s longed-for wings have arrived, but she cannot take flight. Desperate to keep her place in the magical city in the sky that has become her home, Astrid risks joining the dangerous, high-stakes birthday games to fix her failing wings. But the dangers are far greater than Astrid feared, and somebody is prepared to risk everything to stop Astrid from getting her prize.
This excellent sequel gives us more of Megan Hopkins’ compelling and rich floating world above London. With new heartache and challenges for Astrid, this book builds on the tension and the worldbuilding without losing any of the magic and excitement of discovering London Overhead for the first time. The vocabulary is varied and challenging and the excitement and peril of the story make this an exciting read.
