Although Bear Island is no longer habitable for polar bears, April spots signs that one is still around and becomes determined to save the starving, injured last bear.
This beautiful portrayal of a friendship between a girl and a bear is one of the most popular books in our classroom. Hannah Gold’s stories are enchanting and the illustrations by Levi Pinfold are captivating.
